Ashley Buckle - Physiotherapist
Ashley graduated from Dalhousie University
Physiotherapy in 2000. In Kingston, Ontario Ashley was involved in a
sports medicine clinic together with an orthopedic surgeon and
physiatrist. As well, he covered orthopedic clinic and fracture clinic
for multiple orthopedic surgeons. He returned to Corner Brook and
opened Health and Performance Centre in May 2005. He is additionally
trained in orthotic assessment, acupuncture, myofascial pain management
and McKenzie protocol for disc management. Ashley’s special interest
is in working with post-operative and workplace soft tissue injuries.
Heather Buckle - Physiotherapist
Heather graduated from Queens University in 2003 with a
Physiotherapy degree. She worked in general medicine and private
practice in Ontario before moving back to Corner Brook. She has since
worked in private practice physiotherapy and has post-graduate training
in manual therapy, lymphedema therapy, and acupuncture. Heather has a
special interest in core stability training and is offering a Pilates
class through the YMCA beginning October 17th. A special class is
offered for beginners and those with a history of back problems.
Heather’s other special interest is in women’s health and is taking
clients with special needs related to post-partum care and breast
cancer.

Rob Ryan - Physiotherapist

Rory O'Neill - Physiotherapist
Rory graduated from Leeds School of Physiotherapy in
the UK in 1990. She returned to university in 1993 and graduated with a
Masters Degree in Sports Medicine from Trinity College in Dublin,
Ireland. She also has advanced manual therapy training with the
Manipulation Association of Chartered Physiotherapists of the UK.
Rory specialized in orthopedics and sports medicine
from early in her career and her work experience has included working
in large teaching hospitals, private clinics, GP practices and
with sports teams in the UK and Ireland.
She worked with the Great Britain Speed Skating Team
for 5 years, travelling extensively to world cup events,
world championships and to the Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City.
She has also worked with elite cyclists, runners and figure skaters
amongst others.
Rory is a qualified personal trainer and fitness
instructor. She teaches fitness classes at the YMCA and seniors
aquasize classes. Rory has a particular interest in sport and
exercise rehabilitation including biomechanics, muscle balance,
flexibility, maximizing performance, minimizing limitations,
overuse injuries and breaking the cycle of recurring injuries. All of
these factors also apply to work related injuries and day to day
activities. Her commitment is to help to improve the overall health and
performance of her clients.
Lee Miles - Massage Therapist
With over 10 years experience, and a degree in Human
Biology, Lee has a unique combination of knowledge and experience to
offer patients here on the west coast. He also has experience as a
full-time instructor in the massage therapy program in Ontario, all of
which has kept him familiar with the full scope of practice. Lee
is keenly interested in sport-related applications and has worked with
many amateur and professional athletes from the performing arts to
competitive teams. Lee also volunteers as a member of the board of
directors for the College of Massage Therapists of NL.

Sharon Lahey - Dietition
Sharon graduated from Acadia University in 1992 with a bachelor of
science in dietetics. She completed her dietetic internship at
Vancouver Hospital in 1994. Since then she has worked in various
aspects of nutrition. Presently, she is staff dietitian at
Western Memorial Hospital in diabetes education and out
patience. Sharon’s special interests include diabetes education,
sports nutrition, and heart disease.
